Loving God,

As we look around the world we are overwhelmed by the injustices of poverty, exploitation and war. We are appalled by the apparent indifference that many show, even those in positions of power and influence, who seem to do little, or nothing, to tackle these evils. We are disgusted by the way victims face seemingly insurmountable hurdles seeking help and shelter. We pray for those who are so badly mistreated: that You lift them up. We pray for their oppressors: that they may repent. We pray for people with power and influence: that they use their positions for the benefit of those who have none. And we pray that You use us to make some small difference to better the lives of people in need.
