Loving God,

We seek to lead lives of faithful dedication to You, but there are so many temptations to lead us astray. Help us, we pray, to avoid the traps and snares of the tempter so that we may live faithfully in the light of Your truth. Use us to be good examples to our neighbours, so that our actions truly witness to You. Enable us, in our own small ways, to follow the example of the Apostle Paul so that we, too, may eventually echo his words with honesty,

‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.’ (2 Timothy 4:7)

We ask this not for our own sakes, but for the glory we may point to: the Lord Jesus.
